Cooking first because everything else needs food. Carpentry and Smithing next because housing asks for both. Then the four gathering skills to 40 and 70 for the clan upgrades. Brewing and Agility after that, and save the 90s for raids.

Why order matters more than rate

Every skill uses the same XP table: level 30 is 11,441 XP, level 50 is 86,043, level 70 is 614,346 and level 90 is 4,301,148. Since a level costs the same everywhere, the question is not which skill is cheapest to level but which level pays you back. A level that unlocks better food, a house, or a clan-wide upgrade keeps paying long after you stop training it. The order below is built around those unlocks.

A second reason: your clan's skill stats are the sum of what its members train, and clan upgrades check those stats. Members contribute 5% of the skill XP they earn to the matching clan skill, according to the wiki. Training a skill your clan is short on helps everybody.

1. Cooking (and Fishing to feed it)

Food decides how long you can fight, and a dead character loses unclaimed loot. The cooking ladder in the game data is a good set of short-term goals: Cooked Meat (heals 4) at 10, Cooked Cod (6) at 20, Cooked Giant Meat (8) at 30, Cod Soup (10) at 40, Cooked Zander (12) at 50, Cooked Pufferfish (14) at 60, Porcini Soup (17) at 70, Stew (19) at 80 and Cooked Bloodmoon Eel (24) at 95. Two of the three raids also recommend Cooking or Fishing at 90+, so these levels are never wasted. The best food page has the ingredients.

2. Carpentry and Smithing for housing

Every player housing tier asks for both. From the game data:

HomeGoldCarpentrySmithing
Cardboard Box100,0003020
Tent500,0005040
Van down by the River2,500,0007060
Small Cabin10,000,0008070
House25,000,0009080

Carpentry runs ten levels ahead of Smithing at every tier, so if you only have time for one, make it Carpentry. Both skills also supply the clan's guild house, which in the wiki's table takes planks and bars in large amounts: 2,500 Spruce planks and 2,500 Bronze bars for the first tier, up to 250,000 Magical planks and 75,000 Titanium bars for the Castle. A clan with a few strong carpenters and smiths gets there far sooner. Details on the housing page.

3. The four gathering skills to 40, then 70

Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining and Foraging gate three clan upgrades, per the wiki. At 40 in all four, a clan can buy More gathering (10,000 credits, two extra gathering events a day) and No time to waste (5,000 credits, removes the gathering event cooldown). At 70 in all four, Gatherers (22,500 credits) adds 5% gathering speed for everyone. Clan gathering events themselves add a 2% XP boost per participating member, so the more members level these, the better every event gets.

4. The crafting skills to 40

Crafting, Smithing, Cooking, Farming and Brewing at 40 unlock More crafting (an extra crafting event per day), Gotta get crafting (no crafting event cooldown) and Laid-back events, which auto-starts the next clan event. All three are cheap, between 5,000 and 10,000 credits. If you followed steps 1 and 2, you already have Cooking and Smithing well on the way.

5. Brewing

Brewing turns into combat power. The game data puts Potion of Swiftness at Brewing 1, Resurrection at 30, Great Sight at 55, Dark Magic at 75, Pure Power at 85 and Ancient Knowledge at 93, with Ascension at 115. At Brewing 70 your clan can buy Potioneering (30,000 credits), which makes potion effects last 25% longer. Guardians of the Citadel also rewards a good brewer. The potions page has the recipes.

6. Agility

Agility is a utility skill. Its dodge chance is +0.18% per level up to 21.6% at 120, and at Agility 60 your clan can buy Yoink, a 15% chance to keep a boss key. Every raid recommendation includes Agility 90+. The catch is that free accounts can only level Agility to 30, per the wiki, so how high this sits in your order depends on Premium.

7. Plundering, Foraging and Farming for the late clan upgrade

An offer they can't refuse (50,000 credits) makes sales to non-player shops pay 10% more gold. It needs Plundering 80, Foraging 80, Farming 70 and Carpentry 75 on the clan's stats. Plundering is also one of the three skills the wiki suggests for Reckoning of the Gods, and the Group effort upgrade (combat skills 40, Magic 50) adds 10% Plundering success.

8. Enchanting once Magic allows

Enchanting is gated by Magic as well as its own level: the common tier needs Magic 20 and the rare tier Enchanting 40 with Magic 50, in the game data. If you do not use magic, this is the last skill on the list. The enchanting guide has the details.

Tools make every skill faster

Whatever order you pick, check the tool for it. The game data has 13 tool types in 8 tiers, plus outfits and gloves; the Otherworldly jumping rope alone gives Agility a +25% boost at level 100. The skilling gear page lists every tool by skill, and the leveling guide shows the fastest task at each level band.
