IdleMMO Classes Guide
Your class is a permanent bonus that shapes what a character is good at. There are 13 classes in three groups: combat classes that come with battle talents, skill classes that boost one gathering or crafting skill, and locked hard-mode classes that trade power for challenge. You pick one per character, and since an account runs up to three characters at once, class choice is a question of how you split your roster.
Combat classes
These are the only classes with battle talents, unlocked at levels 10, 35 and 70. If a character will fight (and hunts, dungeons and world bosses all go through combat), it wants one of these.
| Class | Bonuses | Battle talents (Lv 10 / 35 / 70) |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | +10% Strength EXP · +5% Battle EXP · +5% Hunting Efficiency | Mighty Strike · Rampage · Shield Wall |
| Shadowblade | +5% Speed EXP · +10% Hunting Efficiency · +5% Battle EXP | Backstab · Shadow Piercer · Shadow's Veil |
| Ranger | +7% Dexterity EXP · +8% Hunting Efficiency · +5% Battle EXP | Piercing Shot · Eagles Eye · Nature's Aid |
The combat differences are small on paper (all three carry +5% Battle EXP), so the real choice is which secondary stat and talent kit you want. Whichever you pick, the Combat calculator ranks every enemy by XP per hour for your level, and the enemy database shows what each target drops.
Skill classes
Each skill class boosts exactly one skill by +10% efficiency and +10% EXP, with no battle talents. The link on each row opens that skill's calculator, where the boost toggles show what the bonus is worth in real XP per hour.
| Class | Bonus | Plan with |
|---|---|---|
| Miner | +10% Mining Efficiency · +10% Mining EXP | Mining calculator |
| Angler | +10% Fishing Efficiency · +10% Fishing EXP | Fishing calculator |
| Chef | +10% Cooking Efficiency · +10% Cooking EXP | Cooking calculator |
| Lumberjack | +10% Woodcutting Efficiency · +10% Woodcutting EXP | Woodcutting calculator |
| Smelter | +10% Smelting Efficiency · +10% Smelting EXP | Smelting calculator |
| Beastmaster | +10% Pet Mastery EXP · +10% Pet EXP | Pets & companions guide |
Hard-mode classes
Three locked classes exist for players who want the game to fight back. You cannot switch to or from them.
- Banished: no permanent stat effects, but no market or trading access. Gets a 50% discount on teleportation costs.
- Forsaken: -50% Skill EXP, -50% Battle EXP, -50% Dungeon EXP.
- Cursed: the Forsaken penalties plus no market access, with the same teleportation discount as Banished.
One quirk: characters without market access don't count toward the three-active-characters limit, so a hard-mode character can run alongside a full roster.
Changing class
Class isn't locked forever. The Metamorphite item, bought from a vendor, changes a character's class with a 14 day cooldown between changes. That makes a practical opening plan: start your first character on a combat class to unlock content, and re-spec later if your roster's needs change.
Which class first
Combat, on your first character: battle talents and access to hunts, dungeons and world bosses matter more early than a 10% skill bonus. Slots two and three are where skill classes pay off: match them to whatever the best-skills rankings say you should be training, and let the calculators price the +10% for your exact level.
Frequently asked questions
How many classes are there in IdleMMO?
13: three combat classes with battle talents (Warrior, Shadowblade, Ranger), six skill classes with +10% efficiency and +10% EXP in one skill (Miner, Angler, Chef, Lumberjack, Smelter, Beastmaster), and three locked hard-mode classes (Banished, Forsaken, Cursed).
What is the best class for a first character?
A combat class. Warrior, Shadowblade and Ranger are the only classes with battle talents, and combat gates hunts and dungeons. Skill classes shine on your other active characters: you can run three characters at once, so a common split is one fighter plus two gatherers or crafters.
Can you change your class in IdleMMO?
Yes. The Metamorphite item (bought from a vendor) changes your class, with a 14 day cooldown between changes. Locked classes (Banished, Forsaken, Cursed) cannot be switched to or from.
What do the hard-mode classes do?
Forsaken and Cursed take -50% skill, battle and dungeon experience; Banished and Cursed cannot use markets or trading but get a 50% teleportation discount. Characters without market access do not count toward the three-active-characters limit.
