Day One: What to Do First
Every activity in IdleMMO works the same way: you start it, the timer runs, and when it ends you pick the next thing. Your first session is about learning that rhythm with a loop that pays for itself. The route below is the one the official wiki gives new players. We've added the reasons behind each step and what to check before you move on.
1. Mine coal
Mine until you have a couple dozen coal. It takes a few minutes. Coal does two jobs here: you sell some for starting gold, and you burn the rest when you cook. If you tab away while it runs, turn on push notifications so the game tells you when the action finishes.
2. Sell about half of it
When the wiki was written, coal sold for around 5 gold each. Prices move with the player economy, so look at the current price before you list, and remember the market takes a cut. Do not sell all of it. You need the other half in step 4.
3. Buy bait and fish cod
Bait was around 2 gold each at the time of writing, and each cast uses it. Fish for raw cod. Once you have a stack, keep half for cooking and sell the rest.
4. Cook the cod
Cooking uses one coal per fish. Cooked fish sells for more than raw, and it is the food your character eats automatically to heal during fights. A full bag of cooked cod is what makes the next step safe.
5. Fight rabbits
Rabbits are the easy first fight. They build combat experience and your primary stats. When you have beaten every rabbit you found, you need to hunt again before you can battle more: hunting is how you gather enemies to fight. Before you move past rabbits, look up the next targets in the enemy database to see what they drop and what level they ask for.
6. Sell the leftovers and go again
Whatever fish you did not eat goes back to the market. That gold buys better tools. A better pickaxe, fishing rod or felling axe makes each action faster, which matters more than it sounds when every hour of idle time counts.
Before you log off on day one
- Queue something long. Your character keeps working for up to 6 hours after you leave, then stops. Mining is the safe overnight choice because it uses no materials, so it cannot run dry halfway through the night. Fishing burns bait. Chapter 3 covers the idle limit in detail.
- Look at the map. Press Map in the main menu to see Valaron. Other zones have different enemies and resources.
- Think about your other slots. An account holds 5 characters with 3 active. You do not need to fill them today, but it helps to know where you're headed. If your main is going to cook a lot, the wiki points out that the Chef class gives cooking bonuses.
Next up: which skill to put your hours into once the starter loop is running.
