IdleMMO Guild Strategy
A good IdleMMO guild is an EXP machine with a mark budget. Fill your daily challenges (5 at guild level 1, up to 10 at level 100), keep members active in raids and assaults, finish the 60-day season in the top 25 for its 20 marks, and spend marks where they return the most: Conquest waves, the Armoury (from guild level 60) and chosen guild Slayer contracts (from level 50).
Guilds in IdleMMO look like a social feature, but they are mostly an economy: guild EXP raises the guild level, guild level unlocks capacity and features, and marks pay for the things that boost everyone. Whether you lead a guild or are choosing one to join, this is how the pieces fit, using the rules on the official wiki.
Guild level and member cap
Guild EXP raises the guild level, which expands member capacity and unlocks more raids and daily challenges. The member cap grows slowly:
| Guild level | Max members |
|---|---|
| 1 | 20 |
| 35 | 21 |
| 60 | 22 |
| 70 | 23 |
| 85 | 24 |
| 100 | 25 |
Five extra seats across 99 levels means every seat matters. An inactive member costs the guild a slot that an active player could fill, and active members are what drive challenges, raids and conquest. Our guild pages show public guild data if you are comparing guilds to join.
Ranks and who can do what
Ranks run Recruit, Soldier, Officer, Deputy, Leader. Everyone can contribute to challenges and the stockpile, view assaults and enter the Energizing Pool. Soldiers and up can use Armoury items. Officers and up manage applications, kick members, generate and refresh challenges, schedule raids and activate the Energizing Pool. Deputies and up change ranks, build and repair Guild Hall components, start and end assaults and buy Armoury items. Only the Leader can rename, banish or disband the guild.
Practical tip: the jobs that keep a guild ticking (refreshing challenges, scheduling raids) sit at Officer. Make sure you have enough Officers across time zones that a day never goes by with challenges left unrefreshed.
Challenges: the daily engine
Challenges last 24 hours and usually ask the guild to collect and contribute a quantity of items. Completing one gives guild EXP, and each item a member contributes earns that member 2 EXP even if the challenge isn't finished. The number of challenges per 24 hours grows with guild level: 5 at level 1, 6 at 25, 7 at 40, 8 at 60, 9 at 85 and 10 at 100. Officers can refresh a challenge that is too hard; the challenges page says refreshing costs nothing extra and allows 1 refresh a day at level 1, up to 4 at level 100 (the guilds overview lists a refresh as costing 4 marks, so check in game before you spend).
The habit that separates good guilds from the rest: refresh the impossible challenges early, and tell members which items to gather. A challenge for something your members already farm is almost free guild EXP.
Raids and seasons
Raids are scheduled by high-ranking members; players join a lobby and the raid starts when the timer hits zero. More participants means more guild EXP. Completing a raid gives each participant Combat EXP and Guild Mastery EXP; higher tiers take longer but give more EXP per participant and per second. Leaving early forfeits your rewards and reduces the guild's.
Seasons last 60 days, and placement depends only on EXP gathered. The top 25 guilds each receive a flat 20 marks, paid within about 6 hours of the season ending. Below 25th there is nothing. If your guild sits around 20th-30th, a push in the final weeks is worth more than at any other time.
Spending marks
Marks come from challenges and season rewards, and they are the guild's scarcest currency. Where they go:
- Conquest waves: 1 mark per one-hour wave. This is the route to ruler boosts of up to +25% for the whole guild next season. See Conquest and Meditation.
- Raids: starting one costs marks, varying by difficulty.
- Chosen guild Slayer contracts: 1 mark each, available from guild level 50 with at least 8 members. Random guild contracts are free. Details in the Slayer guide.
- The Armoury: unlocks at guild level 60 and costs 10 marks plus a large pile of logs and bars to build. Each item costs 1 mark and lasts 3 hours.
Armoury items
| Item | Effect (3 hours) |
|---|---|
| Trebuchet | +10% Combat Experience |
| Battering Ram | +10 Combat Experience per enemy |
| Explosive Keg | +10% Attack Power |
| Scorpion | +50 Attack Power |
| Medical Kit | +10% Defence EXP |
| Medical Tent | +50 Protection |
Different items stack; the same one can't be used twice until it expires. The flat Battering Ram bonus is strongest for members fighting fast, low-XP enemies, while the Trebuchet's 10% favours those already on high-XP targets. Line Armoury use up with assault waves so the boost feeds guild EXP too.
The stockpile and Guild Hall
The stockpile is a separate resource pool that can only be spent on the Guild Hall and its components, and contributions can't be withdrawn. Deputies and the Leader build, remove and repair components, and a component only does anything once it is built. Because the Armoury alone needs tens of thousands of logs and bars, a guild that wants it should agree early on which members gather which materials, and feed the stockpile steadily rather than in one last-minute push. Trade-locked characters can't contribute at all, so plan around them.
Choosing a guild to join
- Check its level for the features you want: guild Slayer at 50, Armoury at 60.
- Ask whether it runs assaults and in which location. Ruler boosts are the biggest guild perk.
- Remember the exit cost: leaving or being kicked means a 24-hour wait before joining, applying to or creating another guild.
- Trade-locked characters (Banished, Cursed) can't contribute to the stockpile, and a banished guild only accepts trade-locked members.
Frequently asked questions
How many members can an IdleMMO guild have?
20 at guild level 1, rising to 21 at 35, 22 at 60, 23 at 70, 24 at 85 and 25 at level 100.
How does a guild earn marks?
Mainly from challenges and from finishing in the top 25 of a 60-day season, which pays a flat 20 marks per guild.
Is there a penalty for leaving a guild?
Yes. Leaving or being kicked starts a 24-hour wait before you can join, apply to or create another guild. It doesn't apply if the guild disbands.
