Short answer

Conquest is where a guild earns the season's biggest boosts: the top 10 guilds by EXP in a location rule it next season, with 1st place getting +25% on primary skill EXP, combat, dungeon, world boss, hunting and Slayer EXP and Magic Find. Meditation is the opposite: a level-gated scroll that boosts someone else, worth writing only once your level reaches the steep end of its curve (about 70+).

These two systems get lumped together because both hand out percentage boosts on top of everything else you do. They work very differently. Conquest is a team effort that pays the whole guild for a season. Meditation is a personal skill whose output you give away. This guide covers how each works according to the official wiki and where the effort is best spent.

Conquest: how assaults work

Guilds launch assaults on locations. While an assault runs, enemies your members defeat in that location add EXP to the guild and to its conquest progress, and members earn Guild Mastery EXP too. Starting a conquest needs a Conquest Banner component. Assaults run in waves of one hour, and each wave costs 1 mark. Only battles that start after the assault launches count.

The EXP that flows to the guild is a share of what members earn from enemies. The wiki's example is 5% each to the guild, the conquest and the player's Guild Mastery, rounded down per enemy. Boosts to your own EXP (potions, buffs) raise those shares too, and stronger enemies give more. So the members who matter most during an assault are the ones fighting the highest enemies they can, with XP boosts running.

Ruler boosts

At the end of the season the top 10 guilds by EXP in a location rule it for the next season. Boosts by place:

PlaceEXP and Magic Find categoriesPrimary skill efficiency
1st+25%+5%
2nd+17%+5%
3rd+13%+5%
4th+10%+3%
5th-7th+7%+3%
8th-10th+3%+2%

The categories are primary skill EXP, dungeon and world boss Magic Find, and dungeon, combat, world boss, hunting and Slayer EXP. For seasons starting on or after 2026-06-01, the combat EXP part only applies during the 14-day assault cooldown window. Note how steep the top is: 1st place is worth nearly twice 3rd and more than three times 5th.

Individual shard rewards

Members who join assaults also earn shards from two zone leaderboards, and can place on both: total EXP contributed (20,000 shards for 1st, down to 2,000 for 10th and 1,000 for 11th-25th) and total kills during assaults (5,000 for 1st, down to 500 for 10th and 250 for 11th-25th). Placing anywhere in the top 25 on both is 1,250 shards; that is a lot of level 70+ dungeon runs worth.

Making assaults count

Meditation: a skill that helps other players

Meditation is passive: press Start and gain 0.8 XP per second. At level 35 you can write Guidance Scrolls: each takes 90 minutes, earns 0.1 XP per second, and uses a Blank Scroll bought from General Goods for 60,000 gold. You give the scroll from another player's profile; it sits in their pending list until they accept it, then gives a 2-hour boost. You can't scroll yourself or your alts, and the receiver needs a total level of 100.

Scroll strength depends on the writer's Meditation level and follows a steep curve (the wiki gives it as 1 + 14 × ((level - 1) / 99)3.5). There are two scroll types:

BonusXP scroll: writer levelMagic Find scroll: writer level
2%4854
5%7180
8%8394
10%89100
15%100n/a

XP scrolls boost primary skills, combat, hunting and Guild Mastery. Magic Find scrolls boost battles, dungeon runs and world bosses. Everything below level 48 is a 1% scroll, so the 60,000 gold blank is only good value once the writer is well up the curve. A level 35 scroll gives the same 1% as a level 1 scroll.

Buying scrolls versus writing them

The giver can charge for a scroll, but only exactly the Blank Scroll price (60,000 gold), paid by the receiver on acceptance with no tax. So from the receiver's side, a scroll from a level 89+ writer is a 10% XP boost for two hours at the cost of the blank. From the writer's side it is break-even on gold plus Meditation XP. Free accounts can hold 1 pending scroll, members 3, and you can't accept a new scroll while a guidance boost is active.

How the two fit together

The best time to accept an XP scroll is right before a conquest wave, a long dungeon chain or a world boss, so the boost lands on the activity that pays the most. Remember the effects rule: boosts only apply to actions that start after you gain them. A guild with one high-level Meditation writer can feed its strongest fighters scrolls before each assault, which raises the EXP flowing to the guild and the chance of a top-three finish. For the wider guild plan, see the guild strategy guide.

Frequently asked questions

What does ruling a Conquest zone give?

The top 10 guilds by EXP in a location rule it for the next season. 1st place gets +25% primary skill EXP, +25% dungeon and world boss Magic Find, +25% dungeon, combat, world boss, hunting and Slayer EXP, and +5% primary skill efficiency. The bonus drops to +3% for 8th to 10th.

How strong is a Guidance Scroll?

It scales with the writer's Meditation level, from 1% at level 1 to 15% (XP type) or 10% (Magic Find type) at level 100. A level 71 writer gives 5% XP; level 89 gives 10%.

What does a Blank Scroll cost?

60,000 gold from the vendor. A writer can charge the receiver exactly that amount, paid on acceptance with no tax.
