When should I start fighting?

Early combat earns far less than skilling, according to the community guide. When you do start, the starter weapons are the Sword (melee), Crossbow (ranged) and Fire Staff (magic), and flies are the first target. [3]

Can I play more than one account?

No. The community beginner guide states the rule as single account only, with no alts and no boosting. Check the in-game rules if you are unsure, since they are the final word. [3]

Cowbells and the marketplace

What are Cowbells?

What is the Marketplace tax?

2% on standard items and 18% on Cowbell bags. Remember to take it off your sale price before you call a trade profitable. [4]

Only to buy Cowbell bags. Ironcow characters can view the Marketplace but cannot post buy or sell listings. [4]

Should I sell to the vendor?

Usually not. The community guide warns that the red sell-for-coins button pays only a fraction of the market price. Compare the vendor value with the current bid first. [3]

Enhancing, guilds and the game

How does enhancing work?

Each attempt either adds a level (up to +20) or fails. A failure resets the item to +0 unless you use protection, in which case it only drops one level. Base success starts at 50% for +1 and falls to 30% from +11 onward. [5]

Do guilds give bonuses?

The wiki's guilds page describes them as social, with private chat and leaderboards. Creating one costs 5 million coins, and it starts with 30 member slots. The community beginner guide also covers weekly guild trials and shrines, so check in game for the current rewards. [6, 3]
