Hourly rates divide one run's XP or entry cost by its cached duration. They assume back-to-back runs and leave out recovery and travel. Shards are a reward from eligible dungeon completions, rather than an extra entry payment. Check the official dungeon rules before chaining runs near the minimum combat threshold.
Budget a run before comparing hourly rates
Illustrative example: a two-hour run awarding 1,200 XP and costing 3,000 gold gives 600 XP/hr and costs 1,500 gold/hr. Two completed runs require four hours and 6,000 gold in entry payments. Gold cost per hour measures spending; it does not subtract loot value or establish whether a run earns gold.
